Aliso Viejo District 2: Duncan Ahead of Porten 1,636–1,152 in Unofficial Returns

ALISO VIEJO, Orange County — November 5, 2026. Max Duncan leads Steven Porten in the Aliso Viejo City Council District 2 election, according to the publicly posted unofficial Orange County tally. The table shows Duncan with 1,636 votes (58.68%) and Porten with 1,152 (41.32%), a difference of 484 votes.

Two districts, two very different margins

Aliso Viejo’s District 3 short-term race is much closer in the same published results: Marie Tsaasan had 1,040 votes against Garrett Dwyer’s 1,036, only four votes apart. California58 has already covered that narrow District 3 race; the District 2 numbers are a different election and cannot be added to it.

Why readers should follow both districts

The City Council makes decisions about land use, parks, infrastructure and municipal services. An election may affect the city’s future governing majority, but final seat allocation must be based on certified district results, not projections drawn from an early count.
